Ayla Moreno, piano

Ayla started playing the piano and the violin at the age of 3 and her first appearance with an orchestra as a soloist was when she was 6 years old, where she played the Berkovich Piano Concerto with the Tucson Civic Orchestra. Then the following year, she performed the Mozart Piano Concerto No.1 with the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra and also with the Tucson Repertory Orchestra during their tour in Japan. In 2022, she performed the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3 with the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra at age 10, then in 2023, the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 with Orquestra do Algarve of Portugal under the baton of maestro Maurizio Colasanti. 

She participated in music festivals such as Cleveland Institute Music Young Artist Seminar, Chopin Festival in Poland, Philadelphia International Music Festival, Heifetz PEG, Colburn Piano Seminar, Sima classics in Poland and Piano concerto festival to study with prestigious teachers, perform at the concerts and perform with orchestras.  She also enjoys performing at annual Tucson Folk Festival.

Ayla is a winner of various national and international competitions such as Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT, Young Artists’ Competition by the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Dorothy Vanek Youth Concerto Competition by the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, the Concerto Competition by the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra, the WPTO Spain International Piano Competition, the  Sound Espressivo Competition, the Frantz Liszt Center international Piano Competition, the Charleston International Music Competition and many more. She is also a member of Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra and currently study piano with Dr. Kyungsun Choi and violin with Dr. Laura Tagawa.  Other than music, she loves playing chess and taking dance classes.
