Saxophonist

Doron began his saxophone studies at the age of 7 with Gan Lev at Hassadna Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem and continued his studies there with Prof. Gersh Geller and Prof. Boris Gamer. Between 2019 – 2023, Doron studied with composer and saxophonist Jean-Denis Michat at the Lyon Conservatory of Music. Doron was recently accepted to the saxophone class of Arno Bornkamp at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music for the 2023/2024 school year.

Doron participates regularly in international music festivals and masterclasses, including the Jerusalem International Klezmer Festival, the International Saxophone Masterclasses in Bad Homburg, the European Saxophone Forum in Wroclaw, the Andorra International Saxophone Festival, the Saxiana and Saxo-Voce saxophone masterclasses in Paris, the European Saxophone Academy in Gap, the Palmela International Saxophone Festival, and the Larissa International Saxophone Festival.

Doron won multiple scholarships and awards, including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation National Scholarship Competition (2017-2023); “Soloist of the Future” Award; 1st Prize at the National Paul Ben-Haim Israeli Music Competition; 1st Prize at the European Saxophone Forum in Poland; 1st Prize at the 7th “Vitor Santos” International Saxophone Competition in Portugal; 1st Prize at the 1st “Oberton” International Solo Competition in Austria; Prix d’Honneur (Saxophone) at the 96th Leopold Bellan International Music Competition in France; and 1st Prize at the 10th Larissa International Saxophone Competition in Greece.

Doron performs regularly in central musical venues in Israel and abroad, among them the Jerusalem Theater; Jerusalem Music Center; Tel Aviv Museum; Tel Aviv Chamber Music Center; Haifa Auditorium; Tallone Hall on San Giulio Island, Italy; Solitär Hall of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg; Barocksaal in Graz; Andorra Congress Center; Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon; Bourse du Travail in Lyon; Salle Molière in Lyon; Salle Tony Garnier in Lyon; and the Kleine-Zaal of the Concertgebouw Concert Hall in Amsterdam. In addition, Doron performed as soloist with the Ramat-Gan Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphonic Band of the Portuguese Police, and the Oberton String Ensemble.
