Violinist Marilyn Jia began violin study at the age of six with James Greening-Valenzuela.  A prizewinner of numerous competitions, recent awards include First Prize in the Pelican International Competition for Young Musicians and First Prize in the North California Young Talents Competition.  She plays in Young People's Symphony Orchestra in Berkeley, CA, as well as East Bay Chamber Orchestra, for which she has served as co-concertmaster.  Marilyn recently completed Level 10 examinations in the RCM and ASTACAP programs.
