Violinist

Michael’s love and curiosity for music has taken him on an exciting journey. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, he began taking online violin lessons at the age of 5 and continued for a year and a half until he could switch to in-person learning. Currently, Michael is studying at the Toronto School for Strings, where he diligently builds on his skills under his instructor’s guidance. In addition, Michael is a member of the Mooredale Youth Orchestra, where he gets to collaborate with other musicians.

Michael has participated in various competitions, and his performances have earned him second place at the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, and first place at the Unionville Music Competition. When asked about his violin playing, Michael expresses enthusiasm, saying, “My mom encourages me, and when I play well, it feels amazing!" Besides music, Michael also has a keen interest in mathematics, visual arts, and loves to stay active through various sports.
