Yara Ayache

She is currently a junior in university. Since the beginning, music and the arts have been a vital and important part of Yara’s life. Through listening to the singing of her mother, learning how to play instruments, dancing flamenco, singing, marching band, orchestra, band, creating music groups such as the Youth of the World Orchestra, and constantly engaging in different forms of art and creation, Yara gained an extremely great appreciation for artistic expression. Her interest in music has led her to study and perform a variety of instruments, including traditional Persian instruments such as the santoor and tombak, piano, violin, and clarinet. Some of her musical accomplishments and leadership experiences include having served as her high school’s marching band drum major and clarinet section leader, performing as an invited guest at various university, community, and international events, a member of the Persian National Music Ensemble, performing with/as a member of her high school chamber orchestra at Midwest Clinic in Chicago (2017), and founding and directing the youth volunteer orchestra Youth of the World Orchestra.

Having been exposed to and growing up listening to the beautiful, soulful, and expressive sounds of flamenco music, she began pursuing flamenco dance in 2015 and has since trained with a variety of talented artists including Edwin Aparicio, Cristobal Reyes, Domingo Ortega, Rapico, Karime Amaya, Farruquito, Alfonso Losa, Norberto Chamizo, and others and has performed in a variety of companies and venues/events within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Beginning her castanet training within the realm of flamenco dance, she joined Teresa Laiz’s castanet school in 2021 to further her skills and knowledge. Yara is now a part of Teresa Laiz’s Castanet Choir and looks forward to sharing this art on stage alongside the choir members.
