Yiqun Zhao is a New York based flutist and data scientist. She is a winner of the 2021 New York Flute Fair Competition for non-professional musicians. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Flute Club and is a committee member in the National Flute Association’s Performance Health Care Committee.  Yiqun has played as a soloist in various prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall.  She has also played in multiple flute choirs and orchestras.  She is now studying with Nicolas Duchamp.  Yiqun holds a masters’ degree in statistics from Harvard University and was one of the 8 merit-based commencement marshals among 1,000 graduates. Yiqun also holds a bachelors’ degree in mathematics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where she was the valedictorian. She also studied at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Yiqun currently works as a data science manager in a multi-national consulting firm.
